4. Please write or type a brief (300-500 word) essay on why you should be chosen for the PERCHERON HORSE SCHOLARSHIP. Attach your essay to this application.
5. Please secure three recommendations in sealed envelopes from non-family members that you know well. These adults can be almost anybody. Horse breeders, teachers, neighbors, ministers, your local vet, 4-H or FFA leaders, etc…Anybody but your parents and other close relatives. Send these recommendation envelopes with your application and essay unless the person wants to mail their recommendation directly to me and if so, state that in a note so I will be looking for it to come.
6. Secure an official transcript of your grades (high school or college) and include it in the packet.
This application, your grades, the essay and the recommendations must be postmarked to the address below by March 1st. DO NOT SEND OVERNIGHT POSTAGE. The postmark by March 1 is fine. You will be notified immediately that your application has been received and is complete. Letters as to the committee’s decision will go out in mid May after our trustees meeting.
